Stationery but not stationary!

But that doesn't mean the joy of the written word has been left behind. It's fun to watch a young one really concentrate and be creative as they put together a message to a friend, a thank you for a kind act or a joyful note to beloved grandparents.
The things they say in writing!
Of course, kids are unique communicators, often being more direct than adults. There are some great examples of this. A boy at a summer camp in the US had to comply with the rule to write home at the end of the first week. His one-line letter to his mother simply said: 'I was forced to write this to eat'.
Some aren't overly tactful, and express love in interesting ways, such as: 'If I had a different mum, I would punch her in the face and go find you'. Then there was a note that congratulated 'the second-best teacher ever' and what might be called a grudging apology: 'I am sorry because mom says I am. I did not think I was sorry but I guess I am'.
Then there was the problem of scale, expressed superbly: 'I love you with all my butt. I would say heart but my butt's bigger'. So, have your kids written any memorable - for the right or wrong reasons - messages?
